My parents took Emery to Boston Common for an afternoon just with Emery. They walked around gardens, saw the ducks and rose the iconic swan boat. Afterwards they took Emery to eat steamed buns “xiao long bao” in Chinatown and Layer went to Copley. They spoiled her rotten like great grand parents and bought her a dress and a terrier purse that she picked out herself. Here are some pics from that great afternoon in the city of Boston.
And this is how it began.
My mom, Emery and I took a day trip to Haverhill, the town we lived in for about 2-3 years between 1988-1991. Life was simpler then and I was in third grade, learning to swim at the Y and walking everywhere with my mom. There are lots of good memories from Haverhill.
We drove to New York City to show Emery where she was born and also to reminisce about our days living in timesquare. Here’s some photos from the trip:
Our main purpose for the trip to Boston was to attend Eugene’s graduation. It was a big day and after many, many years of hard work Eugene graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Despite the degree in Econ, Eugene is actually pre-med/dental and will be studying for the DAT this year to take get into a dental school program next year.
Eugene has done really well at school. Like many people, freshman year was hard to adjust to but over the next three years Eugene did better and better at school. He’s ended with a very good GPA and has positioned himself well for Dental. It’s great that he knows what he wants to do for his career and we are all proud of his achievements and vision.
Graduation at BU was spread over three days with a school specific diploma ceremony, activities for students and parents to your and see boston and the college and ended with the final all university commencement, which is the big finale.

It was relaxing to hang out at my parents house and around newton. Emery was very popular and got a lot of attention from everyone.

We finally left my parents and Bean on May 30th. It was a great trip!
