Mother’s Day Art Project

Ok, it’s true that we are just finishing the Mother’s Day art project one day before Father’s Day. That is just how we roll.

I bought the supplies and frames from a local arts and craft store. Ashley chose the photos of her and Emery that she loves. I setup the project space and Ashley and Emery worked together to create this beautiful board. Here’s some pics of their work:

Our First Date

Ashley and I had a few hours on our own to walk around downtown. We went to Faneuil Hall and took a picture at the place of our first date. That night of our first date we must have sat there for 1-2 hours talking. Here we are since 1998 to now 2014!

The Graduate

Our main purpose for the trip to Boston was to attend Eugene’s graduation. It was a big day and after many, many years of hard work Eugene graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Despite the degree in Econ, Eugene is actually pre-med/dental and will be studying for the DAT this year to take get into a dental school program next year.

Eugene has done really well at school. Like many people, freshman year was hard to adjust to but over the next three years Eugene did better and better at school. He’s ended with a very good GPA and has positioned himself well for Dental. It’s great that he knows what he wants to do for his career and we are all proud of his achievements and vision.

Graduation at BU was spread over three days with a school specific diploma ceremony, activities for students and parents to your and see boston and the college and ended with the final all university commencement, which is the big finale.

Here are some pics from the school diploma ceremony:

She’s now 4!

Yup, that’s right, Emery has official turned 4 today. We spent her birthday in Boston and had a family birthday party.

We too a river boat cruise in the morning as part of Eugene’s graduation. The weather was perfect today and Boston was absolutely gorgeous.

Afterwards, my parents took Emery to Boston Garden to see the ducks and a swan boat ride.

In the meantime, Ashley, Eugene, Enzi(Eugene’s BU friend) and I picked up Emery’s cake, party supplies and food for the birthday party.

We surprised Emery with a birthday party at home when she returned and she had so much fun. Emery loves princesses and hello kitty so we have her a well themes party.

A Sweet Birthday Note

My parents sent me a really nice email today for my Birthday.  It makes me really happy to read it.  I am also putting a picture of Emery from their visit last year.  I’ll need to find a picture of me and my parents at this age to compare! 🙂

Ray,

Wish you a very happy birthday! We remember vividly the time when you were what Emery looks like now and we have seen you grow up to a responsible family man every step of the way.

You are thoughtful, diligent, devoted and so successful in managing your work and family life. You are so kind, generous, and broad-minded to mom and I, your brother and grandma. We are lucky to have a son like you.

Ray, we are proud of you! And we love you forever!

We’ll call you tonight.
