Father’s Day

I am getting used to this Father thing now. At first it was overwhelming and even though it still can be hectic, I really cherish having a wonderful daughter to take care of. I am also really grateful for my own father who taught me important things like how to horse around and be goofy. Not to mention teaching less critical stuff like English and computers.

Happy Father’s Day to myself and my dad!

Christmas Merriment

We had a great Christmas this past week. Emery received lots of wonderful gifts and we were able to take a short road trip to Nashville.

Here some pictures of the good times we had.

Nashville- We had some good ramen at a Japanese Pub in hip East Nashville. We took a wonderful tour of the Belle Meade Mansion, dated back to the 1800s who made their money from horse breeding. We saw a wonderful show “The Rockettes Christmas” at the Grand Old Opry Theatre. We also had some time to just relax at the hotel with the dogs. Emery loved jump and climbing on all the furniture and she only hurt herself once.

Turkey Artwork

Emery’s showing lot os artistic ability.  Her teachers are really impressed with her eye for detail on her work.  Here’s a turkey drawing she made.  She did not make the paragraph of writing but wrote her name, dates and put together everything else.

Dear Santa

Here’s Emery’s first self written letter to Santa Clause. Ashley helped her spell the word but this was Emery’s self formed sentence.

We were painting before the letter and Emery just loved painted nails!

More Halloween Fun

We went to a Holloween party hosted by Emery’s “old” classmate, Amelia.  It was a great party and all the kids came dressed up.  Most of them were 3 years old so Emery had a great time running around the park and eat candy, cupcakes and all the things Ash would prefer she not eat.  Here’s Emery in her Mini Mouse outfit with Amelia and also a group shot.

Later that evening, we carved our Halloween pumpkin.  Unfortunately we packed all of our candles so we’ll have to post the spooky outcome later.  Even those these picks makes it seem I did all the work, Ashley actually cut a good amount and I just stole all the photo opts. hehehe
