Best Mexican Around

We have become really big fans of a local Mexican place called Mr. Taco. The dishes are all really flavorful and fresh. Most entries are unde $7 and the sides of different types of sales and sauted onions and jalepeƱos are all free. Emery always gets her cheese quesadilla but Ashley and I have been having fun enjoying the menu!

Christmas Merriment

We had a great Christmas this past week. Emery received lots of wonderful gifts and we were able to take a short road trip to Nashville.

Here some pictures of the good times we had.

Nashville- We had some good ramen at a Japanese Pub in hip East Nashville. We took a wonderful tour of the Belle Meade Mansion, dated back to the 1800s who made their money from horse breeding. We saw a wonderful show “The Rockettes Christmas” at the Grand Old Opry Theatre. We also had some time to just relax at the hotel with the dogs. Emery loved jump and climbing on all the furniture and she only hurt herself once.

Emery Hikes A Mountain

Yesterday we took Emery to Stone Mountain Park, just south east of Atlanta. We’ve been there many times already but not with Emery. At the center of the park is a very very large rock. So big that it’s really a mountain that is hike-able. Surrounding the large mountain are parks, lakes and recreation buildings. It’s a great park and is a tourist spot in Atlanta.

We convinced Emery that she had to walk up all by herself. We told her how her friend Kate had done it all by herself. This seemed to have work because while she did complain a bit she seemed pretty game to walk up all by herself. Of course the minute we got on the trail Emery had to go “potty”. We managed to have her hold it for 30 minutes. However this didn’t stop her from declaring every minute outloud that she “really needed to go potty”. The mountain hike was quite crowded and lots of people chuckled as they embarrassingly heard her remarks.

The hike managed to become very steep in some places and we help Emery’s hand. Emery was very brave overall and was pretty determined to make the climb. In the end we got all the way to the top without holding her one bit.

Sleepy time

I was feeling really sleepy this weekend. Emery snuggled up with me to watch some TV on the couch.

Emery’s first homework assignment complete!

This weekend Emery’s Pre K teacher, Ms Amy gave students an assignment. Emery was suppose to read a book and then draw a picture of her favorite part and describe why.

Emery did this entirely herself. We did not touch it though we helped her spell out the words and directed her in the drawing. Emery did an amazing job and is writing a sentence all by herself for the first time.

Ashley and I are so proud.
